The American Journal of Public Health conducted a study, researching the absorption rates of chemicals found in drinking water. They have concluded that our skin absorbs an average of 64% of total contaminant dosage. Other studies found the face absorbs several times more than the body whilst the absorption rate for underarms and genitalia was 100%. Another study concluded that the body absorbed 100% of fragrance ingredients!
These are quite alarming considering most of us use so many skincare products that claim to use Natural products. Theres a famous saying, you are what you eat. The same applies to your skin. What ever you put on your skin, your body is absorbing that, however our skin has no filtering system like our digestive system. Even small amounts of chemical combinations can have severe implications as once a chemical passes through the layers of the skin, it is more likely to be absorbed by our bloodstream or lymphatic system. I bet no one ever told you that! If you can't eat it, bin it!
Seed 2 Soil has formulated each and every product with love and extensive research to try and produce the highest level of healing fractions by combining many organic natural products that work hand in hand to enhance any therapeutic benefits it may have. All our fragrances are from essential oils! Essential oils are known for their therapeutic benefits, how exciting is it to know that our body will be absorbing those goodies!
The ingredients we use are certified organic and 100% natural. Free from all nasty chemicals, petrochemicals, parabens, fillers, sulphates, artificial fragrances and colours.
As we have mentioned earlier, we do not use any chemicals and because of that, some of our products have a shorter shelf life compared to other products currently on the market. As the product ages, so do the vitamins and fatty acids, please view our product care page.
What are fatty acids? Fatty acids protect, regenerate and soften the stratum corneum, relieving inflammation and ensure an appropriate structure of the skin intercellular cement. All our products are quite concentrated as we do not use water. The higher the concentration the better the results. We have formulated our oil based products by carefully selecting oils that contain omega fatty acids 3, 6, 9 and 7. Omega acids 3 and 9 are excellent when applied to the skin. Research has shown it maintains the healthy appearance of the skin. The fatty acids contained in our oils create an occlusive film on the skin which reduce trans-epidermal loss thus contributes to maintaining the correct hydration of the epidermis.
Our products are also comprised of oils that contain vitamins of A, B (1, 2, 6) C, E, D, F and K. Vitamins are essential to skin health providing different benefits for the skin.
Our products contain oils that are high in antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the skin from free radical damage which is what damages the skin. So protecting skin from free radical damage is what protects the skin. Antioxidants also stabilise our formulations.
Some oils contain minerals such as chromium, copper, selenium and zinc and nutrients like potassium and lecithin. All these nourish and protect skin. Majority of our ingredients are noncomedogenic (don't clog the pores). Each product has differing ingredients, comprised of different nutrients formulated for a purpose.
All our products are made in Australia. Some of the ingredients we use are sourced from certified organic manufacturers globally, native to their own homeland.
We are environmentally friendly and try to use minimal plastic due to the harsh & serious ramifications it has on planet earth.
We also also introduced a Vegan range as we believe no one should miss out on our products. None of our products are tested on animals, we test on humans.
